HP Deskjet 825C Printer Review Posted on: March 8th, 2006
HP are changing it up with the release of their Deskjet 825c, how would you like a printer that costs a measly $79, yet prints better than some printers that cost twice as much?!
Most consumers looking for a high end printer wouldn't even consider the Deskjet 825c, it has a printing resolution of 600 x 1,200dpi (dots per inch) and HP only rate the printer at 3.5ppm in both black, white and color. However, it's not all bad, black goes for approximately 6 cents per page and color shouldn't run you more than 8 cents per page.
We tested the Deskjet 825c's text printing ability by printing a low resolution 10 page document, we weren't expecting much - however the quality blew us away! The text was amazingly rich, really deep black and completely smooth! To be honest, this is one of the best rough-draft text prints that we've seen. I even out-classed it's own specifications given by HP, and printed at 4.1ppm.
The selling point for inkjet printers these days is how well they perform printing photos. Our tests resulted in the Deskjet 825c needing almost 17 minutes to print a full page photo on glossy paper. When we reverted to plan paper the times were a little more reasonable, coming in at about 6 minutes.
The Deskjet 825c uses the C1823A Color ink cartridge, the C6615A color ink cartridge.
